UMCB Annual Luncheon

This sixth annual fundraising luncheon showcases UMCB's crucial role in Central Texas and beyond.  Civic, business and policy leaders in our community come together to learn how academic medical education and research are helping us set the standard of healthcare in Central Texas, create an economic engine for our region, and provide accessible, person-centered healthcare.  This year will showcase the vision of what's to come with the proposed medical school and a new UMCB on the horizon.

Funds raised will benefit technology for complex care at UMCB and will also enhance the Research Awards Program that was begun in recent years, which recognizes researchers who exemplify ingenuity and creativity in clinical research.

Clarke Heidrick, attorney with Graves Dougherty Hearon & Moody, and founder and former chair of the Travis County healthcare district, Central Health, will be honored at the luncheon for his leadership in the healthcare arena for the Austin community.

Past honorees include former Austin Council member, Betty Dunkerley; University of Texas Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs, Dr. Kenneth Shine; Chancellor of The University of Texas System, Dr. Francisco Cigarroa; and Doug English, founder of the Lone Star Paralysis Foundation.
