Austin Wildcats raises $22,036 for Breast Cancer Center
An Austin-based basketball program for teens and tweens raised $22,036 for the new Breast Cancer Center at Seton Medical Center Austin. They raised the money at their first Tournament for Hope. Nearly 500 girls from across Texas competed at the event. Molly Sherman, a breast cancer survivor and longtime supporter of the Wildcats, presented the check to Seton representatives. Molly was joined by her two daughters, Wildcats players, as well as Kathy Erickson, high school girls program coordinator for the program and lead organizer of the tournament. The center is expected to open at SMCA in 2013.
