MSDF donates $1 million to Seton Breast Cancer Center

Seton Medical Center Austin received a $1 million donation from the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation for the development of a center dedicated to breast cancer detection, treatment and recovery at the hospital. The Dell family foundation’s support brings Seton Austin closer to realizing its goal to fund the state-of-the-art $6.5 million Seton Breast Cancer Center.

The donation was presented at a charitable shopping event hosted by Susan and Craig Lubin and Candace and Michael Partridge. The event was held at Ralph Lauren in The Domain. The Dells presented the gift in honor of their friends, the Lubins. Susan is a breast cancer survivor and a co-chair of the Seton Breast Cancer Center steering committee.

“It’s through the generosity of donors like the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, and the leadership of local advocates like the Lubins, that we can begin to develop a world-class breast cancer center that Central Texas deserves,” says Greg Hartman, president and chief executive officer of Seton Medical Center Austin.

The vision for the center is to provide a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to breast cancer care that ties together the best technology, doctors, personal attention and support—from mammography through treatment and recovery.

In addition to the gift from MSDF, 15 percent of sales at the Ralph Lauren event were donated to the project.
