New Breast Cancer Center at Seton Medical Center Austin: Bringing Comprehensive Services to You, Close to Home
The Seton Breast Cancer Center at Seton Medical Center Austin will bring a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to breast cancer care that brings together the best technology, personal attention and support throughout a your cancer journey… from mammography through treatment and recovery.
Treatment Navigation Assistance—A trained clinical navigator to guide you through your mammogram and initial diagnostics. If you are diagnosed with breast cancer, an RN Navigator will help guide you through the treatment process.
A Team Approach—Each patient’s cancer care team of physicians and staff will meet weekly with specialties such as surgery, plastic surgery, medical oncology (chemotherapy), radiation oncology, and support services team representatives to develop and monitor an individualized care plan for treatment and survivorship.
Certified Staff and Technologically Advanced Equipment –The Seton Family of Hospitals is the only Central Texas cancer program accredited as a Network Cancer Program by the Commission on Cancer Seton Medical Center Austin handles the majority of Seton’s in-patient cancer cases and has more oncology certified nurses than any hospital system in Central Texas.
Our staff features two network oncology medical directors, oncology research and patient navigator nurses, and the necessary support staff for a caring, comprehensive oncology program designed to meet the needs of our community. The next step is providing you access to the most technologically advanced equipment for diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
Comprehensive Oncology Support Services–The treatment of cancer affects the entire family. The vision for the Breast Cancer Center at Seton Medical Center Austin includes many opportunities for patients to become active participants in their medical care.
Expansion of the Dedicated Cancer Inpatient Area–The SMCA oncology area will double in size, allowing patients to be cared for on one floor that is dedicated to your specialized care.
Infusion Center–This center will provide chemotherapy and biological therapy, blood transfusions and other intravenous therapy. The vision for this treatment center includes a soothing, comforting environment featuring reclining chairs in small groups and private treatment suites, skyline views of Austin, internet access, entertainment technology, music therapy and special spa services.
